  Design and Technologies Year 4

This resource 'Don't Waste It' is designed for students to enhance their learning through inquiry, in collaboration with their peers. Students will research the role of people in design and technologies, with a particular  focus on the Australian farmer, agriculture, and sustainability. The students will transform their knowledge and understanding of this content, and apply critical and creative thinking skills to collaboratively design a  sustainable waste solution to benefit the environment and the Australian dairy farmers.

This particular unit of work will assist in the student's development of some key curriculum ideas from the Australian Curriculum: Design and Technoloies strand. The students will use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce an appropriate sustainable waste solution where students are seen to be taking action to create preferred futures (ACARA, 2015).
